Bio
Soliyana Yared is an Articling Student at Green and Spiegel LLP in Toronto. Soliyana assists clients with all aspects of immigration law in Canada.
Soliyana graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School. While in law school, Soliyana worked with various legal aid clinics, acted as an executive-at-large of the Black Law Students’ Association of Osgoode, and was the president of the Osgoode Peer Support Centre. Soliyana worked in the immigration division of the Barbra Schlifer Commemorative Clinic providing immigration services to women who experienced violence. Additionally, Soliyana was a Research Assistant for the Refugee Law Lab, an organization that undertakes research and advocacy about legal analytics, artificial intelligence, and new border control technologies that impact refugees and other non-citizens. Soliyana also represented Osgoode Hall Law School in the National Immigration, Refugee, and Citizenship Moot competition as a researcher.
Soliyana spent her 2023 summer at Green and Spiegel LLP as a Summer Law Student.
Prior to law school, Soliyana graduated with an Honours Bachelor’s degree with a double major in Criminology & Socio-Legal Studies and Peace, Conflict & Justice Studies and a minor in Spanish, from the University of Toronto where she graduated with High Distinction.
