Bio
Emre Esensoy is an Associate Lawyer at Green and Spiegel LLP in Toronto. Emre assists clients, both individual and corporate, with all aspects of immigration law in Canada, including temporary and permanent residence applications, citizenship, litigation, admissibility and enforcement matters, sponsorship appeals, and alternative dispute resolution.
Emre obtained his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Windsor in 2019. While in school, Emre volunteered as Advocacy Chair with the Canadian Association of Refugee Lawyers’ student chapter. He also worked with Community Legal Aid, appearing before administrative tribunals and the Provincial Court to represent low-income clients in small claims, housing, criminal, and provincial offences matters. Emre has completed his articles with Green and Spiegel LLP, and has now returned after practicing at a boutique immigration and refugee law firm in Toronto, where he assisted clients with temporary and permanent residence applications, as well as citizenship, litigation, and admissibility matters.
Prior to law school, Emre worked with a boutique immigration and refugee law firm as a legal assistant, and as a community organizer for low- and moderate-income neighbourhoods in Toronto. Emre holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Political Science from the University of British Columbia, and a master’s degree in Political Science from Simon Fraser University.
