In a new Forbes article, Dan Berger discusses a federal judge’s decision granting nationwide preliminary relief against a DHS international student visa rule that was scheduled to take effect September 15. The rule would have replaced duration of status with fixed admission periods of up to four years for F-1 students and J-1 exchange visitors. Berger called the ruling a “great step for students and scholars,” explaining that it keeps academic program decisions with students and their advisers while the legal challenge continues.
