USCIS announced today that is will extend the closure of its field offices for all interviews, appointments, naturalization ceremonies services, and other face-to-face interactions through June 3, 2020, with the intention of re-opening them on June 4. As with its previous suspensions, USCIS advised that it will send out new notices advising individuals of their re-scheduled appointments, except that InfoPass appointments must be re-scheduled through the USCIS Contact Center. In addition, emergency services continue to be available on a case-by-case basis. As of the date of writing, USCIS’ national Service Centers remain operational. Therefore, even though extended, and USCIS has announced it may consider delays due to COVID-19 when adjudicating a late filing, all other expiration dates remain in effect and extensions or renewals must arrive in compliance with applicable regulations to be considered timely-filed.
