On January 4th, U.S. Practice Director Jonathan Grode presented at the annual Consumer Electronics Show (“CES”) in Las Vegas, NV. Jonathan was a panel participant “MATCHFEST at CES 2017 for Global Start-ups and SMEs.” In his European-focused presentation, Jonathan discussed the interplay of nonimmigrant visas geared towards entrepreneurs seeking to open businesses in the U.S. He also provided expert insight on potential changes expected to current immigration policy once President-Elect Trump takes office later this month.
This year marked the 50th anniversary for CES, the world’s largest gathering of technology professionals, entrepreneurs, and innovators. The annual event is organized by the Consumer Technology Association and held in Las Vegas. According to a post-conference press release, CES 2017 was a record-breaking year, with over 55,000 professionals from outside the U.S. in attendance.
On January 7th, Jonathan also spoke at the Colorado Bar Association’s “Annual Ski and CLE,” held in Vail, CO. During his presentation, Jonathan discussed key anticipated changes to immigration policy and compliance expected in the coming year.
