July 6, 2015 ? The US State Department?s Bureau of Consular Affairs is once again scheduling interviews and issuing visas, after a technical glitch forced a suspension in operations. The Bureau of Consular Affairs is responsible for processing visas for non-US citizens. A technical glitch affecting the Consular Consolidated Database interrupted visa processing and created significant backlogs, the bulk of which have now been cleared.
