Cansu Aydemir is an Associate Lawyer at Green and Spiegel LLP in Toronto, where she advises individuals and corporate clients on a broad range of Canadian immigration matters.

Her practice includes temporary and permanent residence applications, work permits and work permit exemptions, business and visitor visas, electronic travel authorizations, permanent residence, and Canadian citizenship matters. She also advises employers and foreign nationals on complex immigration strategies and compliance issues.

Cansu has particular experience in immigration inadmissibility and enforcement matters, including criminal and medical inadmissibility, allegations of misrepresentation, procedural fairness responses, criminal rehabilitation applications, and temporary resident permits. She regularly assists clients in navigating complex cases involving potential or established inadmissibility to Canada.

Cansu also maintains an active immigration litigation practice. She represents clients in applications for leave and judicial review before the Federal Court of Canada, including challenges to refused immigration applications and mandamus proceedings involving unreasonable processing delays. She also assists clients with spousal sponsorship appeals, residency obligation matters, and other immigration appeals and enforcement-related proceedings.

Cansu is a member in good standing of the Law Society of Ontario. She was called to the Ontario Bar after completing her articles at Green and Spiegel LLP. Cansu earned her Juris Doctor from Osgoode Hall Law School. Prior to law school, she worked as an international news reporter for Turkish state television. She also holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts in History, with a minor in Diaspora and Transnational Studies, from the University of Toronto, where she graduated with High Distinction.
